So the mindset behind the swap shops is focused on the impact of fast fashion on the environment. Did you know the UK bins 235 million items of clothing every year? Mad statistic right?!
The Swap shop puts an emphasis on reusing unwanted but usable items rather than throwing them away, thereby reducing waste going into landfills and reducing carbon footprint.
The hope of this is to bring awareness and help educate people on the effects of waste on the planet and ways in which we can reduce this impact.
We are all guilty of making impulse purchases, only to wear them a limited number of times, sometimes not at all.
This is where Dopplle comes in, we want those clothes to go to a loving home where they will be worn and cared for, and in return we would like your wardrobe to be full of pieces you love to wear.
So what is a Swap Shop?
Well you come in with up to 10 items of clothing (clean, washed and usable) you no longer need/wear, and you exchange with items of choice from what we have in our stock. Simple.
You know the saying: one person’s trash is another person’s treasure 🙂
The added benefit of going to a Dopplle Swap Shop is because we use an app you can swap with any of our users, at any time after the event if you have any Dopplle coins left over from the Swap Shop, or you can list more items on the app to get additional coins.
